d. On the rough inner floor is a notable central rise. This peak is offset slightly to the west of the crater midpoint. The small crater Herschel G is attached to the south-southwest rim, and a tiny craterlet lies across the southern rim.

By convention these features are identified on lunar maps by placing the letter on the side of the crater midpoint that is closest to Herschel.
